Divisional Training Conference!

Hey Key Clubbers!

This past Saturday, June 18th, the Divisional Training Conference took place! This event was hosted by divisions 8, 8A, 9, 10, and 11. DTC was basically a mini LTC in which these 5 divisions bonded through ice breakers and by participating in different workshops. The workshops ranged from Photography to the District Project, Icing Smiles, to different workshops about the roles of officers and members. This event had a total of 3 workshops, lunch, K-Fair, and an opening and closing ceremony. Most of the District Board was present and all the funds gained at DTC were given to a little girl named Sophie. Sophie has an illness that prevents her from completing tasks normal 3 year-olds would complete. Treatment for this is approximately $4,000, but with the $10 fee from DTC, we managed to raise almost half of the costs for treatment!! Above, you can see all the members that attended DTC. We all had a great time at this event and we hope that many more members attend next year.

Relay For Life!

Hey Key Clubbers!
One of the upcoming events for the month of June is the Relay for Life event! Relay for life is an overnight community fundraising walk that aims to raise money for the fight against cancer. There will be food, games, and plenty of other activities at this event. It is an opportunity for communities to honor cancer survivors, commemorate loved ones lost to cancer, and fight against the disease. At this event, we would be assisting with set-up by putting up signs, decorations, and setting tables and tents. We would also put together gift bags for the Survivor Ceremony and assist with the distribution of bags for Luminaria. These bags contain a candle and is personalized with a name, photo, and message to honor someone affected by cancer. These candles represent a person and when it gets dark, these candles would be lit. The location of this Relay for Life event is at 2335 Bergen Avenue and this event will take place on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 from 10 am to 12 am. If you are interested in this event, please sign up on the google form attached. We will be working in two shifts, one from 7 am to 12 pm and the second shift is from 11 am to 4 pm. Additionally, we would help direct walkers to services such as restrooms and first aid. If you would like to participate in this event, you can sign up here: AIDS Walk Form. You can apply to either of the shifts or both, depending on your preference. If you guys have any additional questions/comments feel free to ask them in the Google form or contact one of the officers through email/Facebook/in person or email our club's email.
